What makes good workwear

Hi-vis compliance, plainly

If your team works on or near roads, sites or moving plant, your hi-vis usually needs to meet Australian Standard AS/NZS 4602.1. Day-use garments use fluoro fabric. Day/night garments add reflective tape for low light. Which one you need depends on when and where your crew works.

Embroidery is the popular choice for workwear because stitched logos handle washing, sweat and rough wear without cracking. A chest logo and a back name or business line is the standard setup. For hi-vis, placement matters — a logo can't cover the reflective or fluoro area in a way that reduces visibility, so we place branding to keep the garment compliant.

Workwear FAQs

Can you brand hi-vis without breaking compliance?

Yes. We place logos so they don't cover or reduce the reflective and fluoro areas that make the garment compliant. The branded shirt still meets the standard.

What hi-vis do I need for road or site work?

Generally garments meeting AS/NZS 4602.1. Day-only work uses fluoro day garments; work in low light or at night needs day/night garments with reflective tape. Tell us your conditions and we'll match it.

Which workwear brand is best for tradies?

Hard Yakka and King Gee are the go-to heavy-duty brands. Syzmik is excellent for hot, humid conditions with vented designs. The best choice depends on your trade and how hard the gear gets worn.

Can I order workwear for just myself?

Yes. No minimum. Plenty of our workwear customers are sole traders branding a few shirts.

How long does a workwear order take?

Around 2–7 business days from artwork approval for branded stock items. We'll confirm based on your garments and quantity.

Will embroidery hold up on work shirts?

Yes. Stitched logos handle sweat, washing and rough wear far better than print, which is why most workwear is embroidered.

Can you add my crew's names to their shirts?

Yes. Individual names alongside your logo are common on workwear and easy to do.

Do you supply work pants and boots too?

We supply branded tops and outerwear, and can advise on pants and footwear from the same brands. Ask and we'll point you the right way.
