Sublimation, usually. Screen printing charges per colour because each one needs its own screen; sublimation has no screens and no per-colour cost, so a forty-colour design costs the same as a two-colour one.

Can you sublimate onto cotton t-shirts?

No — the dye only bonds to polyester and high-polyester blends, and on cotton it washes out almost immediately. For cotton tees we would use DTF or screen printing instead.
